After honing his skills as a versatile designer for three years, Dhiram’s deep-rooted love for clay drew him to the serene village of Dharamkot, nestled near McLeod Ganj in Himachal Pradesh. Here, against the breathtaking backdrop of the Himalayas, he has found his true calling as a potter. With the mountains as his muse, he crafts and teaches functional pottery, utilising stoneware and terracotta clay as his primary mediums.
Dhiram’s artistic soul is nourished by his profound love for nature, mountains, music, and the myriad textures that surround him. His belief in the distinctiveness of every human and each pottery piece he creates drives his artistry. Over the past two years, he has shared his expertise, teaching pottery and fostering creativity at Dharamkot Studio.
Attracted towards the richness of Japanese pottery culture, the philosophy of wabi-sabi, and functional aesthetics, Dhiram’s creations echo a delicate harmony between tradition and innovation. His work is an elegant marriage of form and function, paying homage to the inherent beauty of both the natural world and human expression.
Amidst the laphills of the Himalayas, Dhiram’s pottery encapsulates the essence of his surroundings, resonating with the symphony of nature’s wonders.
