This is a hand coiled stoneware sculpture with a speckled and earthy finish. Abstract avian form inspired by eagles for the sharpness of the facial expression, it has carved details which accents the form. The colors chosen are a result of my own mix of stoneware which is fired twice to mid range. Firing a sculpture like this is quite unpredictable due to so many factors involved, however I am glad to have got the exact shades i intended to, in fact slightly better.
